A dramatic 30cm original resin seascape, capturing the movement and energy of Shetland’s ever-changing sea.
Layers of turquoise, deep blue and soft sea-green flow through the piece, with intricate white resin forming breaking waves, curling foam and bursts of sea spray. In the distance, rolling green Shetland hills sit beneath a dark, atmospheric sky, creating a striking contrast with the luminous water.
The resin has been allowed to move and develop organically, creating delicate patterns within the waves that can never be repeated. Look closely and there are countless tiny details within the surf, giving the artwork a wonderful sense of depth and movement.
Size: 30cm
Medium: Resin and mixed media on wood
Original artwork: One of a kind
Inspired by: Shetland’s wild coastline and restless seas
A piece that celebrates the beautiful, untamed character of the sea around Shetland.
How It's Made
How It's Made
Each piece of artwork within the Sea Glass collection is made from glass collected by Sarah from a beach in Shetland. Varying in colours and shapes, sea glass can be found in abundance here in Shetland, having been washed up on the shoreline after a storm.
Sarah hand picks each piece of sea glass then cleans and sorts them into sizes and colours before incorporating them into her artwork.
