Grutness beach, Shetland Islands (The Sumburgh hotel is in the distance) The original piece of artwork has now sold.
I used acrylic paint onto thin plywood to create this piece. I collected sand from the beach and glued on, with some grass and a curly piece of bark.
These pieces of bark which regularly wash up has a knick name on Shetland called a 'willie white' and is useful to light a fire with outside. I believe it is a silver birch bark from Norway (we have no trees in Shetland!)
The prints have a lustre finish, similar to satin, and are not mounted or framed. Prints come in 3 sizes.
Thank you for looking at my artwork.
How It's Made
How It's Made
Each piece is crafted by hand in Sarah's Scalloway studio using a mix of epoxy resin, metallic pigments and acrylic paint.
Resin is a durable and long-lasting material, so you can be sure that your seascape will stand the test of time. With proper care, it will retain its beauty for years to come.
