Handmade in Shetland, this one-of-a-kind mixed media piece captures the simple joy of a washing day in the isles. Featuring tiny clothes crafted from pottery, glass and fabric, pegged delicately onto string between two driftwood posts, it’s set against a hand-painted landscape with a croft house in the distance.
This framed artwork is full of texture, colour and coastal charm – a little slice of island life to hang on your wall. All elements are carefully chosen, many found locally, and arranged to evoke that fresh-air feeling of a breezy Shetland day.
This one has a grey frame is 10 x 8 inch and ready to hang or stand up. Each Washing line art piece is numbered on the back and has become very collectable - This one is number 298

How It's Made
How It's Made
Each piece of artwork within the Sea Glass collection is made from glass collected by Sarah from a beach in Shetland. Varying in colours and shapes, sea glass can be found in abundance here in Shetland, having been washed up on the shoreline after a storm.
Sarah hand picks each piece of sea glass then cleans and sorts them into sizes and colours before incorporating them into her artwork.
